N is for NAP
With one week left until Christmas life is coming into the full frenzy mode for most people. Besides real life stuff like taking care of our homes, working and kids, there is last minute shopping and wrapping to do. Did I mention parties and baking cookies, delivering presents oh,, and if you have kids most likely a school activity to attend as well! That is enough for a person’s to do list to make you want to scream!
Therefor, it is imperative to add rest to your day when ever possible. I used the word nap as it started with N and that’s where I was at. However, even just 5 minutes with your legs up and eyes closed taking slow deep breaths will help reenergize you. If you have time for a nap then by all means take one! Twenty minutes is the recommended time and it does wonders for a weary soul! Doing a slow comforting yoga pose or two can give you the effects of napping as well. Childs pose, forward folds, legs up the wall, savasana. All very nurturing and nap like.
Really take the time to add a little self care to your days this week and see if it helps you enjoy the frenetic energy of the holidays just a bit more. They go fast so slow them down when you can!
